Opononi is in the Far North District of New Zealand.
A summer-time holiday spot on the Hokianga inlet,
with beautiful pohutakawa trees lining the sandy shore.
'Opo the Friendly Dolphin' made 1Opononi famous in
the summer of 1955-56. 'Opo' played with the locals
and tourists, whom visited the area in their thousands
just to get a glimpse of this famous dolphin.
A statue in Opononi commemorates Opo's time there.

sanddunes ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಏನು? ಮಳಲಗುಡ್ಡೆ ಅಂತಾನಾ? ಇದು ಎಲ್ಲಿರೋದು? ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮುದ್ರ ಇದ್ದ ಹಾಗಿದೆ ಅಥವಾ ತಲಕಾಡಿನ ಚಿತ್ರಾನಾ?
Opononi ಅನ್ನುವುದು ಒಂದು ಪುಟ್ಟ ಊರು. ಮರಳಿನಗುಡ್ಡೆ ಸಾಗರದ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಇದೆ. ಇದರ ವಿಶೇಷವೇನೆಂದರೆ ಗಾಳಿ ಬೀಸಿದಂತೆ ಅದೂ ಸಹ ಸ್ಥಳ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸುತ್ತದಂತೆ! ಇವತ್ತು ನೋಡಿದ ಆಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಗುಡ್ಡ ನಾಳೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ!

ತಲಕಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಗರದ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಮರಳಿನ ಗುಡ್ಡ ಇರುವುದು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ;)
